LONELINESS OF SENIOR CITIZENS
General & Mental Health Committee marked the World Alzheimers Day, with an outing for the occupants of the senior citizens home sector 15, Chandigarh. 16 of them came with three helpers to join Rotarians from our club at Rotary House. All visiting senior citizens were personally served by the Rotarians and Rotaractors present, to a sumptuous tea party. Dr. Prinka Arora, Assistant Professor department of Psychiatry and Incharge geriatric clinic at GMCH Chandigarh, spoke about the Risk factors and Risk reduction and emphasizing their crucial role in potentially delaying or even preventing the onset of dementia. The evening took a mesmerizing turn by the singing of Rotarian Dr. Raman Abrol. The evening wound up with gift of small snack baskets for our visitors from sector 15.
